Karthik Dantu

PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATOR

I am an Associate Professor in Computer Science and Engineering at the University at Buffalo, State University of New York. Prior to that, I was a Postdoctoral Fellow in EECS at Harvard from 2010-13. I received my M.S. and Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Southern California in 2010. My research interests are in perception and coordination of mobile systems and multi-robot systems.

Charuvahan Adhivarahan

Postdoctoral researcher

Charuvahan was born in Neyveli, India in 1988. He received his B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering from Annamalai University, Chidambaram, Tamil Nadu in the year 2009. He is a Ph.D. student at the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York under the supervision of Professor Karthik Dantu in the area of Robotics.

Sofiya Semenova

Ph.D. Student

My research interests are in developing robust and reliable mobile, cyber-physical, and mixed criticality systems, particularly for robotics and computer vision applications.

Timothy (TJ) Chase

Ph.D. Student

I am a doctoral student in the Distributed RObotics and Networked Embedded Sensing (DRONES) Lab at the Unviersity at Buffalo (UB), advised by Dr. Karthik Dantu (Dept. of Computer Science and Engineering), co-advised by Dr. John Crassidis in the Advanced Navigation and Control Systems (ANCS) Lab (Dept. of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering). I am a current Pathways Student at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) in the Science Data Processing branch (code 587).

Vaishali Maheshkar

I am a PhD student in the Computer Science and Engineering Department working under the supervision of Dr. Karthik Dantu. I received my Masters in Electrical Engineering from State University of New York at Buffalo and Bachelor of Technology in Electronics Engineering from Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute in Mumbai. My research interests include Embedded Systems, Sensor systems, Machine Learning and Wireless Communications.

Yash Turkar

Ph.D. Student

I am an curious and innovative individual with a keen interest in perception for robotics. My research interests include evaluation metrics for SLAM, learning for perception and field robotics. I currently teach CSE 4/568 Robotics Algorithms (Fall 2024).

Pranay Meshram

Ph.D. Student

I am a Robotics Graduate student at University at Buffalo. My interests are Robot Perception, Path Planning and Artificial Intelligence.

Kartikeya Singh

Ph.D. Student

I am a part of the Distributed RObotics and Networked Embedded Sensing (DRONES) Lab working under Prof. Karthik Dantu. My research involves advancements in robotics focusing on deep learning techniques for perception. Before joining UB, I worked as a Research Associate in MOON lab at IISER Bhopal, where I worked with scene understanding frameworks in an unstructured environment. I also worked at INRIA Paris, France during the summer of 2019 as a Research Intern.
